As many of you may know, our wonderful friend and colleague will be undergoing radiation and chemo at Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) Cancer Center in Westchester starting Oct. 7th. Noreen was initially insisting she would be able to drive herself but, with some convincing, she now understands as the treatments progress so will the uncomfortable side effects. When asked if she would mind if we reached out to her Boehringer family to support her with taking her to her daily treatments she immediately broke down in tears as this was just another stressor for her. Noreen confirmed she was sharing her recent cancer diagnosis with her friends and colleagues at Boehringer Ingelheim. In summary, Noreen could use support in taking her and keeping her company starting the second week of treatments as of Oct 14th – Nov 1st. Her Radiation treatments start early in the morning (7:30 or 7:50AM) so you would need to pick her up at her home at 6 Buckskin Heights Drive, Danbury, CT 06811 a little after 6AM as the ride is 45 min – 1hr from her house. If you would like to support, you will need to take a PTO, as we do not know how long her stay will be each day and she is scheduled to receive her chemo treatments every Monday (so if you volunteer for Monday, please prepare for a longer stay). Also, please make sure the day you volunteer will not negatively impact your work responsibilities, and you should request your time as per your usual practice.
