Hannah and Andrew are expecting their first baby! Their journey to conceive wasn’t an easy one, however our God is good and His timing is perfect. Their baby girl Audrey Josephine is a prayer answered and she is so so loved. During routine prenatal care, Hannah and Andrew found out at 14 weeks that Audrey has Down syndrome, which is known to come with higher risks for physical complications. We learned that Audrey needs 2 surgeries, one for her intestines and the other for her heart. The intestinal surgery will occur right after birth and her heart surgery is expected around 3 months. Audrey is also very small for gestational age, and recent testing showed she’ll have to be born early so she’ll be super tiny. We don’t know for sure how long their NICU stay will be but we do know their plan is to go home between surgeries so she’ll have 2 separate ICU stays. Typically new parents are supported with a meal train, however, knowing Hannah and Andrew will be in Boston for Audrey’s first few days of life, it makes sense to support them with gift cards for food and gas. This will help ease their burden and make sure they can focus all their energy on Audrey’s well being.
