Story
Kelsey has two beautiful children. (MaKenna age 8 and Kody age 6months). Kelsey gave birth to her son in September of last year. She started having complications soon after giving birth. She had an MRI of her brain done in March due to persistent headaches, confusion, and other strange symptoms. The MRI revealed that there was a 4cm mass on her brain. She was referred to a neurosurgeon at UAB where they performed a biopsy. They performed the biopsy and it showed that it was a cancerous tumor. The doctors at UAB scheduled her for surgery to remove what they could of the tumor on April 2nd. She’s since had the brain surgery to remove 90% of the tumor and the other 10% we hope can be eliminated by radiation and chemotherapy. She was officially diagnosed with Stage 3 Astrocytoma brain cancer on April 5th. Her family is her support system and backbone. Her parents, fiancé, and sister have put their lives on hold to be there for her as much as possible. If you feel it in your heart to donate, sign up for meals, etc we really do appreciate any help given to us at this time. Please continue to keep Kelsey in your prayers as she tries to adapt to this new journey she is on in life.
