River was diagnosed on July 23, 2019 with germinoma, the rarest form of brain cancer at 11 years old.  His condition includes two brain tumors and lesions in his spinal fluid.  He has successfully completed 2 brain surgeries, countless blood transfusions, 4 brutal rounds of chemotherapy and other procedures.  Dec 2, 2019 River will start proton radiation therapy in Jacksonville, FL with the Univ of FL hospital. River and Mel will be staying at the Ronald McDonald House until mid January 2020.  Mel has been overwhelmed with all the appointments, scans, bloodwork, paperwork and could use some extra support.
