Allie Cross, age 23, grew up in Peoria, IL and attended Dunlap High School. She then went on to Truman State University in Kirksville, MO where she played Division II soccer and graduated in May 2020 with an degree in Exercise Science. This past July, she moved to San Antonio, TX with her fiancé Matt Grossmann, who is an internal medicine resident in the Army, so she could begin medical school at the University of Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine. 

One of her favorite hobbies is powerlifting/working out; this winter she was deadlifting and hurt her back. After doing imaging to see if she slipped a disk, they saw irregularities in many of her bones and a large abdominal mass. By the grace of God and many wonderful doctors, she got into Mayo Clinic within 2 weeks where they determined she has a very rare neuroendocrine cancer called paraganglioma. The doctors at Mayo Clinic are diligently working to get treatment plan ready so the Cross family can start their fight very soon. We pray for God’s healing hand to be placed upon Allie, and for His grace and peace to be with the Cross family throughout this journey.
