Miller Family Food Train

Chatham, IL

Story

As many know. Emily was diagnosed with breast cancer and will be having a double mastectomy on August 6, 2019. The recovery time will be long and we’re not yet sure if she will need radiation and/or chemo.       We are asking local friends and family for help with meals so Emily and Caleb can focus solely on her recovery and spending time together as a family.   We would like to start with lunch and dinner meals for the first three weeks after Emily’s surgery. We may not need that long, or we may need longer. This was quite a shock to the family and we are quickly trying to organize ways to make this process easier for everyone, most of all Emily and Caleb.   We have added the calendar (click on AUGUST in the link below to see specific dates and times.)  If so inclined, please add your name to a date and meal. Below is a list of suggested food that we know the kids will eat.   For the first few weeks post-op, we will leave a cooler outside the front door so you can drop-off at your convenience. Someone will always be home, so feel free to knock on the door if you see cars in the driveway. We just ask that you do not ring the doorbell.  For now, we are only asking for help with meals for the family. Our two families will take care of childcare, doctor appointments, laundry, school transportation, and their after-school activities.  We are determined to let the kids continue on with their daily routines as much as we possibly can.
