Just over five years ago, Nate was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia. Since then, he has been taking daily oral chemotherapy to help keep his cancer markers under control. Unfortunately, in October, we found out that his current treatment is no longer effective in maintaining his BCR-ABL levels within the target range. As a result, the next step is a bone marrow transplant, with his brother, Tyler, as his donor.

Nate is scheduled to be admitted to the hospital on January 9, 2025, to have a central line placed. He will return on January 13, 2025, to begin IV chemotherapy. If all goes well and his lab results remain stable, the bone marrow transplant is planned for January 21, 2025.
