Story
Tuesday night the Watsons experienced something from a horror film! Momma P was taken to the ER for emergency surgery! Mama is awake this morning She will remain in the ICU but as of this morning: Surgery was successful at stopping the brain bleed and fluid continues to be drained from her spine. They were able to remove several tubes this morning as she was waking up and more alert- she is now able to speak. The doctors are working to assess overall impact of the hemorrhagic stroke on her vision, memory, and other functions and we hope to know more and have the plan soon. We were told prior to surgery to expect at least two weeks here in the ICU but are hopeful that mama will keep being her rockstar self and surpass their expectations! Thanks to anyone who has contributed financially or even dropping off snacks or a meal. It allows us to plan to make sure that she does not have to worry about her bills piling up during this time or being able to pay rent next month and that those coming and going to stay with her in the ICU and when she’s home are able focus on helping mama and supporting her recovery. How well she is doing is nothing short of a miracle and is a testament to how strong she is. Mama P appreciates everyone’s continued love and prayers. With a long road ahead the family could use the support of their friends and community! Please help these wonderful people in any way possible! I have linked below a Venmo account as well as several gift cards that would be useful to them at this time! Also, if you can, sign up for a date to order/ cook/ deliver a meal. The smallest of things will still make a difference in the scary and overwhelming experience!
