The Sarah Baker Ballyhoo

Durham, NC

Story

Hi everyone (it's Zach)! I'm not too great at introductions so here goes: In late June Sarah was diagnosed with breast cancer. What we know now is that everything will start with chemotherapy/immunotherapy, probably beginning in mid July. After a few months of that, likely surgery and then we go from there Carissa has been so kind as to help set this page up (along with doing so much else) to allow folks to provide help to us. I can't even think of too many things to add yet, so this page will be a work in progress, but I want to thank everyone in advance for any and all support while Sarah (with me, Norah and everyone else alongside her) goes through active treatment. That's all to start, more to come later. <3

Special Notes

Flowers, while often given as get-well gifts, can pose a risk to cancer patients, especially those undergoing chemotherapy or with compromised immune systems. The primary concern is that flowers can harbor bacteria and fungal spores, which can lead to infections in patients whose immune systems are weakened. - Google AI NO allergies! What a win! Preferences from the family lawyer include veggie heavy, anti-oxidant rich, and as free of processed ingredients or components as possible This will aid in the healing and cancer-fighting aspects of this journey. We have a deep freezer, too, so if you're batching soups/stews/other things like that, we can stow away for deeper into the calendar DoorDash gift cards, straight-up Venmo gratefully accepted as well. Redstart (local meal delivery service) gift cards are greatly appreciated: https://redstartfoods.com/collections/web-shop/products/redstart-foods-gift-card Thank you for making the bane of everyone's existence --- *** NIGHTLY DINNER *** --- less of a burden in this trying time Carissa has 6 cancer cook-books if you would like some inspiration
