Story

On 1/1/2020, our lives changed forever when Al was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. He started treatments in February of 2020 and while it was not easy between side effects and the pandemic, the treatments were effective and he was able to return to work full time in November of 2020. Each MRI showed improvement; the tumor was shrinking and Al's strength was returning. He was working full time and back to coaching softball, which is his passion! On May 17, 2021, we went to the ER after Al had a headache for a few days and then had trouble finding words. It was confirmed that day that the tumor was again active and growing. He started treatments on May 21st and will continue to have treatments every other week as long as they are effective. Al is currently on short-term disability through December and may transition to long-term disability if applicable. We are so lucky that Al's work, Brunswick, has amazing benefits that take care of their employees and their families, so we can breathe and focus on Al's health for now. Thank you for all of the love, prayers and strength shared by you daily!
