Supporting Zachary Catanzaro — A Bear Creek Bear in the Fight of His Life Zachary Catanzaro, a bright and kind-hearted 1st grader in Bear Creek’s Dual Immersion Spanish program, is currently facing an incredibly tough battle with Stage 3 Burkitt Lymphoma — a rare and aggressive cancer. Over the next several months, Zachary will be undergoing intensive chemotherapy in Portland. His family — including his twin brother, also a 1st grader at Bear Creek — is doing everything they can to stay strong through this unimaginable time. Zachary’s mom, Michelle, is a dedicated childcare provider and owner of Little Bears Daycare in our Bend community and his father Matt is the owner of The Zone food truck located at River's Place. Right now, the Catanzaro family is navigating the emotional and financial strain of travel, medical care, and time away from work and home. We’ve created this space to rally our Bear Creek community around Zachary and his family — to offer support, share updates, and spread love. Whether it’s contributing to their fundraiser, sending a card, or simply keeping them in your thoughts, every gesture helps.
