This page has been created to help support Marvin and Cheryl Satterfield.  Marvin has been struggling with bladder and kidney issues for about a year and a half now.  He has had numerous doctor appointments and visits with specialists to find the source and reason for his issues.  In March of 2021, Marvin was diagnosed with Stage 4 Bladder and Prostate Cancer.  The doctor's visits and hospital stays began to pick up and Cheryl has been right by his side through it all.  After meeting with a surgeon, cardiologist, and cancer specialist, Marvin was scheduled to have surgery on May 17, 2021.  Unfortunately, due to a turn of events prior to going to the hospital for surgery, the surgery was cancelled for that day.  He was severely dehydrated, malnourished, and in kidney failure.  After about a week of receiving fluids, food, and dialysis, Marvin met with his health care team and was told that the cancer had now spread to his lymph nodes.  The initial plan was for him to go to rehab to get stronger and then begin radiation treatment in order to reschedule surgery.  However, this did not happen and he was sent home to PineCrest Community to receive adequate care for the remainder of his life.  After spending 3 days there, Marvin made the decision to go home on hospice to spend the remainder of his time on Earth in the comfort of his own home surrounded by those he loves most.  Cheryl has taken on the role of caring for him when the hospice care team is not there.  These two loving individuals will have been together for 55 years this year.  They could both use your help with the gift of a dish of food every so often.
