Julie, Carter, and Addison have suffered the loss of Carter and Addie's father, Jamie, after a tragic car accident in early April. Jamie has been hospitalized fighting for his life for about a month, and unfortunately, lost the fight. Julie has been caring for the kids full time since the accident.
