Story
On September 11th, a routine dr's appointment lead to a confirmed cancer diagnosis on September 18th. This diagnosis came out of the blue with no family history, youth and health all on her side. After a myriad of tests and appointments, Brittney is scheduled for a bilateral mastectomy with axillary node dissection and removal on October 30th. This is an invasive, major surgery, that comes with extreme post-op restrictions and is only the first step. Additional testing is required post-op to determine what comes next. Focusing now on her first few post-op weeks, her mobility will be limited, primarily in her arms. Think T-Rex arms, and now think trying to cook with them! While Shaun makes a killer frozen pizza and is a grill wizard, they could use a little assistance in the meal department. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Special Notes
Please be conscious of excess carbs, i.e.- several pasta dishes, pizza nights etc. due to dietary restrictions. A typical dinner for Shaun and Britt consists of protein, starch and a vegetable. Soups, stews, whole roasts (pork/beef/chicken) are great and provide leftovers for lunch the next day. Balanced meals encourage healing. Meals can be ready made or "make when ready" with instructions!
