Story
At My Sister's House, we are committed to empowering survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. One of the critical services we offer is our Legal Clinic, where survivors receive free legal support and advocacy to help them rebuild their lives and navigate the legal system. Many of our clients are in crisis and face significant financial challenges. As they attend the Legal Clinic, many are unable to afford meals. The long hours spent at the clinic, often during mealtime, can add additional stress to an already difficult experience. Providing free, nutritious dinners for our clients helps ease this burden and ensures they can focus on their legal needs. The meals we provide not only nourish but also help break down the anxieties surrounding the legal process, fostering trust and rapport with staff and volunteers so that clients can feel safe sharing their stories. We also deeply value the time and expertise our volunteers dedicate to supporting our clients. Many of our volunteers are busy professionals who give their time out of a deep commitment to the cause. Providing meals for our volunteers is a way of showing our gratitude and ensuring a supportive environment for everyone involved. Your generous donation of meals will not only nourish bodies but also provide hope and comfort to those navigating incredibly difficult circumstances. With your support, we can continue to create a safe and supportive environment where both survivors and volunteers can thrive.
