About Supporting the Dimecks during Cancer

On April 11, 2019, Norm was diagnosed with neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer. This site is a place to support Norm and Jenn through this difficult road ahead, for them to share stories and updates about their journey and for friends to help with specific needs. Jenn will need help caring for their dogs, making meals, cleaning their apartment as well as financial help with Norm's treatment. FROM JENN: 6/15/19: PET scans have confirmed stage III Neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer that has metastasized to his liver and lung. However, we are so thankful that it has not spread to his bones! Norm continues to battle pain, fatigue, and digestive symptoms. Unfortunately, he has been laid off from his job and denied the benefits we desperately need. We have sought advice from an attorney and realize this would be a long and costly legal battle that may outlive Norm. So, we have decided to spend our energy elsewhere. For those of you wanting to help, we are in need of financial assistance with Norm’s current medications and upcoming treatments. Now that we both have expensive medical conditions to treat, our financial reserves are being depleted quickly. Most of all, we covet your prayers for healing and peace.     5/7/19: Norm is early in his journey with cancer. His doctor has confirmed a non-aggressive neuroendocrine pancreatic tumor that has metastasized to his liver, lungs, and possibly his bones. We are being scheduled for PET scans before deciding the best course of treatment. The prognosis is better than expected, but this still has an enormous impact on his life span and quality of life. We are fighting with insurance to get the tests and treatment he needs. We are fighting with his employer to get the benefits we have paid for. We are fighting for our life together. 5/7/19
