Story
Carolyn Bruce has always lit up a room with her vivacious spirit and her booming laugh! She was diagnosed in August with stage 4 Lung cancer and we've been fighting it with radiation, chemo, and immunotherapy since. In making this page I hope, with your help, to bring back some joy and verve for life that Mom has always had. While she can't quite dance all night like she used to, a short visit, a lunch, a phonecall, or a video chat would be very welcome! As the weather gets nicer, and the Spring activities start I'd love help planning trips to botanical gardens, art fairs, and outdoor concerts if she feels well enough to attend. Your words of encouragement, prayers, and time really do make a huge difference in Mom's motivation and quality of life! Daily tasks are much more difficult now, so any help with meals or cleaning would be invaluable in helping my Dad and I in managing Mom's care. We are all in for the marathon that is treatment, and any help, physically or emotionally, lifts the weight of loneliness and helps us be better caregivers for Carolyn, the person who deserves nothing but the best in this world. I want to express the deepest gratitude from all of us in the Bruce family for all of your love and continuing support! Please don't hesitate to reach out!
Special Notes
No spicy foods or fish No chocolate :( it tastes like metal No red meat, broccoli, or raw onion Mobility and socializing is difficult right now, but we love to have visitors and short walks! Due to the cycle of good and bad days, any plans may be subject to change up to the hour of the event. We will reach out to confirm and keep everyone updated! Mom is very immunocopromised right now so if you have any kind of cough/congestion/sneezing please wear a mask and wash your hands. The last thing we want is for her to catch a bug. Thank you so much for your love and patience!
