Hello Everyone! This page was started to assist Christy and her family as she recovers from surgery in May 2025. Christy's journey began in Sept 2024 when she was told she was in stage 4 kidney failure after having routine bloodwork done. In Dec 2024, she was diagnosed with kidney cancer. It was decided at that time to monitor the cancerous mass. Fast forward to March, her MRI showed growth in the mass and lymph nodes enlarged, so it was determined a surgery needed to be scheduled to remove her left kidney. Additionally in March 2025, she received a 2nd cancer diagnosis of uterine / endometrial cancer. Both groups of doctors agreed to do a joint surgery on May 15th to remove her left kidney and perform a full hysterectomy. At the end of May, Christy will find out next steps in the journey and whether chemotherapy or radiation will be necessary. Fingers crossed the answer is no. Christy would greatly appreciate gift cards or meals to help out during this time. Her mother is ready to be the primary caretaker during her recovery period; however, she has limited mobility so assistance with meals, groceries, light housekeeping, errands and supplies would be greatly appreciated.
