Story
UPDATE 1/10/24: On December 25, 2024 Bailey was called home to be with Jesus. My heart is shattered. I can’t find the words. I try to type them but nothing can express the way my heart is breaking for my sister Sarah and nieces. The loss of a child is something no parent should ever have to go through. I’ve set up a meal train for one month to help her and the girls. Please consider donating a meal or offering any kind of support to their family during this tragic time. And please continue to surround this beautiful family in so much prayer as they navigate the unthinkable. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has selflessly helped in anyway. - Victoria ___________________ As many of you know my sister Sarah’s son Bailey was diagnosed with Infantile Tay-Sachs, a rare and terminal disease at 15 months old. Bailey is now four years old. He is home on palliative care with hospice. Over the years Bailey has shown us how strong he is while fighting the inevitable. Life for Sarah and her kids have been so rewarding yet challenging at the same time. Sarah has always done her best to make sure her children led a typical life the best she could despite the challenges they have been faced with. And have always done their best to make sure Bailey was included one way or another in whatever they were doing. The past couple of months Bailey has significantly declined. He is now 100% oxygen dependent, and hospice is making him as comfortable as they possibly can. We do not know how much time Bailey has left with us. I want to say that every day we have with him is a blessing as he has exceeded his life expectancy. With him declining as much as he has, that comes with many challenges to their day-to-day life. With Bailey needing 24hr care and his mom Sarah being his primary caretaker. It has been weighing on her to be able to have the time to prepare and cook meals for herself and the girls. We would like to help alleviate the stress of preparing meals for Sarah and her daughters Bristol and Kassidy during this challenging time by providing nutritious meals. If you are unable to provide a meal, please continue offering them comfort, strength, prayers and the support they need. Thank you to everyone. Words cannot express how grateful we are for all of the love and support.
Special Notes
NO food allergies. The family does NOT prefer mushrooms. They will appreciate any store bought or home cooked meal. Many have asked how else they can help Sarah and her family. She has so much to worry about and your willingness to help will lift burdens off of her during this difficult time. These acts of kindness are deeply appreciated and help Sarah's family more than words can say.
