Story
How You Can Support Jackie Right Now As Jackie begins her chemo journey, one of the most helpful ways we can show up for her is by easing the everyday responsibilities that can feel overwhelming during treatment. Right now, she could use extra support with meals, house cleaning, and laundry—and every little bit truly helps. Here’s how you can support: Meals – A warm, ready-to-eat meal is a true gift right now. We’ve set up a Meal Train where you can sign up to cook and deliver meals on specific days, more details below in the "Special Notes" section. Not a cook? No problem—Uber Eats gift cards are also a great way to let Jackie choose something that sounds good on tougher days. House Cleaning – We’re collecting donations to cover regular professional cleaning so Jackie can focus on healing without the stress of keeping up with the house. Laundry Services – Clean clothes and bedding go a long way toward comfort, and donations will also help cover laundry service during chemo weeks. Our goal is to raise $3,500 to cover the costs associated with Uber Eats meals, cleaning and laundry services, If you'd like to help, thank you—it means so much. Whether you're dropping off a meal, sending a gift card, or donating to cover services, you’re making a direct impact on Jackie’s ability to rest and recover.
Special Notes
Special Notes for Monetary Donations: You can Venmo to make donations to help with the costs of essential services like house cleaning and laundry to support our Jackie during her journey.. @SheSheKing Last 4 digits of Sheila's #4346. Or Zelle your donation to Sheila King at seking1@bellsouth.net If you have questions or do not use Venmo or Zelle feel free to contact Sheila @ 678-575-4346 for an alternate way to donate. Special Notes for Meal Train Delivery: Meals can be delivered on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during chemo weeks. We will add additional weeks when Jackie begins her second phase of Chemo. Please plan to drop off food between 5:00–6:00 PM. A cooler will be placed outside Jackie’s front door—just leave the meal inside. Please bring all the food in disposable dishes. We do not want Jackie to have to keep up with someone's dishes. To protect Jackie’s rest and limit contact during treatment, please do not knock or call upon arrival. Meal Preferences & Restrictions We want to make sure meals are as helpful and enjoyable as possible for Jackie and her family. Here are a few things to keep in mind when preparing food: For Jackie: Please avoid meals with heavy preservatives or added sugar. She prefers not to have large pieces of chicken (like whole breasts or thighs), as they can be difficult to reheat. However, chicken in casseroles, soups, or shredded in dishes is great! No green peas or lima beans, please. For the kids: They’re easygoing and not picky—kid-friendly meals are always welcome! Favorite family cuisines -- Mexican, stir-fry, and Italian meals are family favorites! Thank you so much for your care and thoughtfulness—your support truly means the world.
