Story
This is a dedicated Rally Room to support Dane on his battle against cancer. It’s been hard to put the last two weeks into words… as they kind of feel like hooks as they try to leave our mouths. But I wanted to come here and give you all a full update… because we need prayers and strength more than ever now! It’s rally time for real!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Here we go… Two weeks ago Dane Taylor went in for a CT scan. We honestly thought he had a bad gallbladder. He had been experiencing some upper GI discomforts and indigestion over the last month. His blood work had been 100% normal (probably better than mine if we are being honest), the endoscopy was pretty normal- only showing some gastritis. So we moved forward with the CT scan. A few hours after the CT the doctor called with disturbing news. There was a mass on the pancreas and some possible masses in the lungs. Of course, we were in disbelief! Even the doctor couldn’t believe it. But we didn’t have any real answers at that point. Nothing was adding up!! Fast forward.. we gathered ourselves and decided MD Anderson in Houston is where we needed to be. In the last two weeks Dane has gone through a biopsy of his pancreas, 1000 tubes of blood draw, DNA testing, a second CT scan, and finally a lung biopsy. Yesterday the diagnosis we had been dreading was delivered. Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. We have been blessed with a rockstar medical team and some cutting edge options on treatment! Dane is so strong!! And if you know him, then you know he’s ready to GOOOO, y’all!! He is ready to blow through that gate and come out a winner!! All life is, is a game anyways right?! Sometimes the line looks tough but, if I know our guy, he just needs a little gap to bring that ball to the infield! And I believe he will!! So here’s where I’m asking, begging.. for your help!!! We have felt every single pray y’all have sent! And I KNOW God has heard them! We never know what His plan truly is, but we do know everything is for his will! PLEASE please please don’t stop praying now!!! Mandy and Dane will need all your prayers! We don’t know the exact treatment plan yet, but hope to know more tomorrow. We do know it will require a lot of traveling back and forth to Houston for treatments, chemo + other therapies. We have a long road ahead!! But we rest in God’s promises!!
