Story
On Saturday, January 11, 2025. Zoe Gonzalez and her family received news that no 9-year-old or family wants to hear, “It's Leukemia”. This day marked the first day of a new life, a new “normal” for Zoe. After numerous conversations with the doctors, a treatment plan has been put in place for Zoe that is estimated to extend over a period of 2 1/2 years. On Monday, January 13, 2025, Zoe underwent surgery to place a Port on the left side of her chest, a Spinal Tap was performed to check for Leukemia cells in her spinal fluid, bone marrow was removed from her hip, and she also received her first dose of chemotherapy. We are all very optimistic that this will be a short setback for her and before long she'll be back to her spunky, cartwheel flipping, energetic self. But before that happens, she and her family will begin their long journey in regard to chemotherapy sessions, doctor visits, hospital stays, blood draws, bone marrow checks, etc. This page is to support and follow along Zoe's journey and her family over the next 2 1/2 years. We are beyond grateful and appreciative.
