Story

On July 17, 2021 while driving home from work, our sweet Eliza was tragically hit head on by a drunk driver. By some miracle, she survived this horrific crash- but she sustained a long list of life threatening injuries and is requiring ICU level of care. She has undergone surgeries to repair a tear in her aorta, a broken femur, a shattered pelvis and the removal of her spleen. She also has a fractured neck, facial fractures/breaks, rib fractures, two punctured lungs and a fractured L5 vertebrae. Eliza has the kindest heart, the sweetest soul and the most gentle demeanor. She’s selfless and always puts the needs of others before her own. Eliza is a devout vegan and she has great compassion for animals and the environment. She’s passionate about fitness along with health & wellness. Eliza is also studying nutrition at URI. Eliza’s hospital stay and road to recovery will be long and hard; her recovery will include a lengthy stay in the hospital ICU, then on to an acute nursing home and another extensive stay at a rehabilitative center. Though she’s still in critical condition in the trauma unit, she’s fighting hard in her true Eliza warrior fashion. It’s apparent that miracles do exist, and from the bottom of our hearts, our family thanks all who have reached out. Though we’re not able to respond to each expression of love at this time, please know that we love and appreciate each and every one of you. Our hearts are overwhelmed by your kindness.

Special Notes

Please avoid foods with any type of nuts. My brother has a severe nut allergy, thank you.
