Meal train for John and Deb Oster

Brooklyn Park, MN

Story

This last week has been a rollercoaster of emotions for our family. It all started early Tuesday morning (4/29) when our mom got a call from a small town hospital in WI, saying our dad, John, had taken a severe fall in his hotel room and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital for an ankle break that would require surgery. The next day he took the 3.5 hour drive back to the cities, where he underwent immediate surgery. The surgery was cut short due to the immense amount of swelling. He was then admitted overnight. The next day he passed OT and PT to go home, but was and is unable to put any weight on his right side. He must remain almost 100% off his foot and keep it elevated to help the swelling go down for a 2nd surgery, which is TBD at this point. So that is where we are at today. Our family is making adjustments at home to help manage his pain and make it comfortable for him while he awaits surgery and then recovery. We are reaching out to all our friends and family for support as we navigate our new normal. Thank you for your continued support and generosity. We will post updates as we receive them!
