Advocate Condell Medical Center Emergency Department -- Meals for Staff

Libertyville, IL

Story

Our local Advocate Condell Hospital ER staff are working tirelessly to keep us all safe while we are staying home to keep them safe. Let's give back and help fuel them with meals at this critical time. This is also a chance to support our local restaurants and delivery drivers. STAY HOME AND HEALTHY, thus no personal deliveries or home cooked meals please. Please sign up for a for either lunch or dinner delivery (11 am or 8:00 pm) for 35-40 PEOPLE (doesn't have to be 40! anything will help). You pick any local restaurant of your choice to place your order and utilize either their delivery service, Grub Hub, Uber Eats, Door Dash, or anything else. In your claimed spot please specify where the delivery will be from and a brief description of what is ordered. Make sure to indicate to the restaurant or delivery service that delivery must be made directly to the ER entrance at the chosen time, a greeter will come out and get the food. They can park right in front. Please make sure the ER is called ahead of time by the delivery person to let them know food is coming -- see special notes. GUIDELINES FOR FOOD DONATIONS – PLEASE REVIEW ALL: -Food must be individually packaged. **Buffet style or sharing donations cannot be accepted. Please NO PIZZA (unless it's individual slices), NO LARGE SUB SANDWICHES, NO FAMILY PORTION SIZES OR CONTAINERS OF COOKIES/SNACKS. -Food must be donated from a restaurant/caterer/food company that is monitored by local health inspectors and has passed a health inspection in the last 12 months. -NO HOME COOKED MEALS -Preference is for food that is cold. Keeping food warm is tricky for units. -Please consider donating both meat and vegetarian options. -Beverages must be in single serve packages (Sorry, no bulk coffee). -All flatware needs to be individually wrapped -All condiments need to be in portion control packets. We understand that during this uncertain time this is a substantial financial ask so we hope that people create small groups to help spread the cost. Please note when calling to place your order please mention that you are donating your meal as we have found many restaurants are providing some type of discount for your good deed! ***If you are interested in receiving a tax-deductible letter from the Advocate Charitable Foundation, you may fill out the Gift In Kind Form https://advocategiving.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/GIK-Form-ACF_COVID_Food-1.pdf Please keep your receipts and check with your accountants/tax preparers to find out if you can utilize this as a tax-deductible donation. We are doing our part by staying home, but this is one small thing we can do as a community to mobilize behind those that must go to work to help our communities! Thank you so much for contributing during this difficult time.
