Meal Train for the Steele’s

Salem, OH

Story

As some know my dad and brother were in a car accident on July 10th. Both were transported to St Elizabeth’s main campus. My brother was released that night, dad was admitted. On July 15th dad was transferred to University Hospital in Cleveland. On July 24th dad had open heart surgery. His aortic valve was replaced and he had to bypasses. On July 26th dad aspirated on lettuce and coded. They had to administer CPR, was vented again, and had an NG tube put in. On the 29th dad was finally able to transfer to the step down unit. On the 30th they administered a swallow test, placed dad in a thickened liquid diet with chopped up food. As of yesterday August 2nd he’s no longer on the thickened liquid diet. On 8/3 they will be putting a pace maker/defibrillator in. On 8/4 dad gets to come home after a long 4 weeks in the hospital. He will have nurses that will be coming in and out of the house to check on things. To help out I’m making this meal train to assist my parents with food or whatever else they would need. If anyone has any questions contact Justin
