On December 14, 2023, our dear family, friend and Soror, Iris, had a life changing experience. She had major trauma to her brain which resulted in 25 days in ICU, one major surgery, several IVs, procedures, tests, etc. After Iris was released from ICU, she went directly to a rehab facility and endured intense therapy for 2 weeks. Her therapy consisted of occupational, physical and speech therapy to include working on her cognitive skills, building her strength and ensuring she could complete normal day to day activities. Through your many prayers and encouragement, Iris is having an amazing recovery. With the help of her mother and siblings, she is back home thriving, like the old quick witted, humorous Iris that we all know and love. Doctors say her recovery can take anywhere from 6 months to a year, and she is on the road to a full recovery, prayerfully. With that said, many of you have asked, how can you help. The immediate need is assistance getting Iris to her therapy and doctors' appointments. She will continue her Physical and Speech Therapy, which are scheduled approximately 2 days per week, along with routine doctors' appointments.
