Story
Our daugther Sarah created this page after we received an amazing outpouring of support and love for John. Once you follow this page, you will be emailed updates on John's recovery. I am humbled by the efforts and concern from family, old friends and new ones! I'm writing these early details many days after so some details are sketchy. As many of you know, John had a double brain bleed. He was admitted to the hospital May 21st for immediate care and surgery was schedule for the following day, May 22nd. The seriousness of the issue was evident by the massive team that cared for John and we are thankful for Dr. Fleming at Riverside Hospital who performed the surgery. I was so thankful for our niece Violet Bowman and our great niece Cindy Erndt who drove me to the hospital and stayed through the evening after John was out of surgery. On Thursday, our grandaugther Audrey Butterbaugh joined us at the hospital as we passed our first hurdle of John's successful surgery. That evening the ICU room filled with family as Aaron, Cindy and Sam Erndt and Kate Evener came by to visit John. Friday, John's son Jack came in from Indiana to see John. We all thanked God that John was alive and healing. Violet and Audrey stayed with me those first 2 nights after John's surgery and our daughter Sarah flew in on Friday and has stayed with me. Audrey will be staying with me from time to time and our son Brion and his wife Sheila will be coming in after Sarah leaves. I’m so grateful they will be here to help with John's transition to come back home. So many friends and family have since reached out and visited John. We are incredibly grateful. Bare with us during this time as we navigate John's healing journey. This page was created so you can keep up to date on John's progress. My daugther Sarah will post updates every few days or as needed. With many thanks and love - Barb
