Loretto Hospital Foundation's Support for our Frontline Healthcare Workers

Chicago, IL

Story

The Loretto Hospital Foundation is seeking your support for our Frontline Healthcare Workers. The Loretto Hospital is a 177-bed, safety-net, community hospital located on the west side of Chicago, IL. We serve one of Chicago’s largest African American - and medically needy communities - that is most vulnerable to contracting COVID-19. Although we may be smaller in size compared to other local healthcare institutions, our might in the fight against this pandemic is not. The Loretto Hospital's Emergency Room, COVID-19 Response, and Support Teams are working tirelessly to handle the surge of virus-related illnesses. And, we want to make sure they know that they have our full support and appreciation. Meals will be distributed on a rotating schedule to include healthcare providers from various patient floors, departments, and shifts by hospital administration. We are seeking meal donations for our frontline team members to keep them nourished, hopeful and faithful during these challenging times. MEAL DONATIONS Please sign up by "claiming" a breakfast, lunch, coffee/snack, or dinner time slot for 25-50 PEOPLE (However, any amount will be a blessing!). You pick any local restaurant of your choice to place your order and utilize either their delivery service, Grub Hub, Uber Eats, Door Dash, or anything else. In your claimed spot please specify where the delivery will be from and a brief description of what is ordered. Make sure to indicate to the restaurant or delivery service that the delivery must be made at the specified time and to the specified location detailed below in special notes section below, and in compliance with the guidelines listed below. TO ENSURE THE SAFETY AND PROTECTION OF OUR ENTIRE STAFF AND PATIENTS, MEAL DONATIONS MUST COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES: Food must come from restaurants only and must be individually wrapped and sealed (including donuts and muffins) - no large tin family-style pans. Pizza is the ONLY exception. Food must not contain nuts or nut products. For precautionary measures, the hospital is unable to accept homemade meals. For your safety, please deliver the food to the main entrance of the hospital listed below. For more questions about food donations please email [email protected] THE PROCESS 1. Also, please keep your receipts and check with your accountants/tax preparers to find out if you can utilize this as a tax deductible donation. We are doing our part by staying home, but this is one small thing we can do as a community to mobilize behind those that must go to work to help our communities!
