Due to family history, Cheri decided to do genetic testing about 5 years ago. The testing confirmed a genetic mutation of RAD51c which has a higher incidence of breast cancer. Due to no known family history of breast cancer at the time, Cheri just had more screenings. Then last summer Cheri had a close family member discover she had breast cancer (she’s ok now due to prophylactic surgery as well). Last Fall Cheri had abnormal screenings that lead to a biopsy and a diagnosis of atypical lobular hyperplasia. Those three factors plus several doctors’ opinions led to the decision to prophylactically have a double mastectomy and reconstruction. To know Cheri is to love her! You will never find a more loyal and selfless person in your corner. Cheri is everyone’s “yes” girl. There’s nothing she wouldn’t do for the people she loves! I created this page to help support Cheri with food for her and the boys for two weeks. I made this page so anyone who feels called to help can donate to a Door Dash gift card.
