Story
In the early morning hours on Sunday March 21st 16 year old Amelia Mccullough was injured in an automobile accident, where she sustained a broken back. Her injuries were near the T12 spinal nerve. Mia was Life Flighted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital where she underwent surgery on Sunday morning around 10:45am. She spent 3 and 1/2 hours in surgery. Amelia's injury caused her to be paralyzed from the waist down, however her surgery was successful and went according to the doctors plans she still has a long road ahead of her. The doctor is unsure at the time the severity of the damage to Mia's spinal cord. She needs days of rest and healing before he can give a more accurate prognosis. At this time the plan is for Mia to remain in ICU for two weeks and will then be transferred to Shepards's in Atlanta or Jacksonville. The last 36 hours have been an emotional roller coaster of shock for this precious family. The everyday worries and reality of this is so overwhelming. And it has been difficult to keep going with such heavy and broken hearts. We have set up this Go Fund Me account so that everyone who can help or who has asked to help can donate to the cost of what this families future will entail. There are so many questions of uncertainty, however helping with their financial burden can bring comfort to this family. Thank you all for all of your many thoughts, prayers, and acts of kindness. Each and everyone of them have been felt. Much love and appreciation to all of you from the Mccullough Family. We will continue to provide updates as we know more.
