Hi everyone, I wanted to let you know that Melissa’s daughter Katie is still a patient at Primary Children’s Medical Center. The medical team there is still working to try and diagnose her condition and have indicated that she will likely remain an inpatient for at least another week and will then require rehab. Because of this, Melissa is going to be going on FMLA so that she can focus on her daughter and her family. During this time Melinda Patterson the nurse manager in the main ED will be covering and assisting Kim with day to day issues and concerns. They will be meeting later this week to see how Mel can best help and they will be communicating their plan. Melissa while incredibly appreciative of the outpouring of support and good wishes has admitted it is getting a little overwhelming and is asking that you allow her to focus on her family right now. She will provide updates and information when she has them. Kim has shared with me that several of you are asking if you could do meals for Melissa so here is a link to a Google calendar that will allow you to schedule a day that you would be able to do if you like.
