May 17-23, 2020, is the 46th annual National EMS Week. In 1974, President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation's communities. It was created to encourage appreciation in the community for those who work in the EMS industry, and to recognize the dedication, commitment and impact of first responders to public safety, education and health. We would like to ask the wonderful citizens of Gates County to help us show support for the men and women on the front lines here in our community in this difficult time.
We are asking that churches, civic organizations, or even individuals take part and provide meals or desserts (and healthy snacks) for our hardworking staff during this week as a sign of appreciation for what they do for Gates County. Thank you cards, notes and signs of gratitude are also wonderful ways to show support!!!!
