Full Plates, Warm Hearts

Richland, WA

Story

Full Plates Warm Hearts is a people-centric, queer-friendly group dedicated to helping our community. We serve everyone, but we emphasize being queer-friendly because we recognize the need for safe, accepting spaces for all. While we aim to fill a gap, we also respect the work of other groups and choose a different approach to how we operate. Currently, we aim to serve soup once a month or so, and provide essential resources like sleeping bags, hand warmers, gloves, and tents to help people through the colder months. We are not a non-profit, so we are not accepting cash donations. Instead, we ask you to check out our wish list (pinned to this group) to help us gather the supplies we need. Marylyn and I, Maddi, have an influence on social media, and it wouldn’t be right for us not to use that influence to help others. That’s why we started this initiative. We’re also actively looking for people who want to help with admin duties, running the group, and turning this into something that can make an even bigger impact. We know we can’t do this alone, so any help is appreciated. Though we’re starting small, we believe that even small efforts can make a big difference. Our motto: People-centric, queer-friendly, and we look forward to expanding our efforts in the future. Join us as we work together to support our neighbors in the Tri-Cities area. Whether you want to help prepare meals, donate supplies, or spread the word, every contribution counts. Let’s make sure no one is forgotten, especially in the toughest times.
