Easton Family of 3 Displaced After Fire

Easton, MD

Story

On November 27th, 2019, Paige a single mother of two children, Ava and Ayden, were at home while Paige was cooking dinner in the kitchen. Next thing they knew the stove caught on fire. As the fire began to spread Paige knew she had to get her children to safety. She called 911, took her children outside until the fire department arrived. The Easton Fire Department and the Cordova Fire Department were able to put the fire out within 45 minutes. Paige and her children are unable to stay in the home due to the damage. Since the fire, they have had to stay in a local hotel. The American Red Cross has paid $600 towards a hotel stipend and other local families have been so generous and have donated a couple extra nights as well. The stipend from the American Red Cross has now been depleted. The fire department estimated the damage at about $7500 but the insurance adjusters have still not viewed the home. Not only have they lost their home, clothing, furniture, food, and other supplies they have had to eat out for every meal since they only have a microwave and a mini fridge at the hotel. I will be putting together a meal train for the family if any are interested please let me know. Paige is such a selfless person and is truly so deserving. She is a hard worker, fantastic mother, great friend, and is currently a full-time student to become a registered nurse. Any donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read and we appreciate all the prayers, thoughts, and support during this difficult time.
