Jessica’s and Mollie's parents, Gwen and Gary Hicks, were involved in a horrible car accident during a high speed police chase on March 2nd (chasing a criminal who stole a county van in Florida). They were passengers in the back seat of their friend’s car and the criminal hit them going over 100 mph. Their car flipped 3 times and landed in a ditch with 4 feet of water. Gwen and Gary were both sent to two different trauma centers and were not released until 4 and 5 days later. Jessica and Mollie have been in Florida since March 3rd caring for them. Gary had surgery on his back, staples in head, lacerations to face/neck and arms. He now has issues with his foot and they are working with doctors to address this. He is receiving in-home PT, using a walker and needs care. Gwen has a concussion, broken ribs, a fracture in her back, a fractured collarbone, and burns to her face. Neither can bend, lift, or twist so they both need constant care. Jessica and Mollie are working with the doctors in Florida to transfer care to doctors and home health in Texas as they will be staying with Jessica for the next couple of months. Mollie will be flying back and forth to Texas to help Jessica. Jessica will be flying back to Texas with Gwen and Gary tomorrow. Mollie will be getting their condo in Florida packed up and then driving their car back to Indiana on Thursday of this week. Since Jessica and Jason will be caring for her parents and juggling everyday life, they could really use some help with dinners. It will be one less thing for them to worry about when they already have so much on their plates!! Anyway you can help would be greatly appreciated.
