Story

Dad and Mom’s memory and physical needs have increased and they need help with meals and meds daily, morning and evening. Misty is currently caring for them 7 days a week, twice a day. She fixes them meals, makes sure they take their meds, takes them to appointments, run errands with them and keeps up with their house chores, etc, etc, etc - it’s a lot! And while she is committed to caring for them, she also needs a break every so often. Misty has given dates that she would like to “take off” so she is able to have a Friday evening into the Saturday (all day) free to rest and spend time with her husband and family uninterrupted with having to care for mom and dad. These dates are only every other week - 2 Friday evenings and 2 Saturdays a month! This is not a lot to ask, and if we all make some time in our schedules to help her out, it will not be too burdensome. In order to keep things organized, well communicated and easy to access dates, I have created this page. Please review the calendar and click the button on the date to volunteer for the dates you are able to do.

Special Notes

Mom will help Dad with changing his pull up, but sometimes has to be reminded where the back is. Both of them (especially mom) have become more picky with their food, and prefer the “good stuff”, aka fast food and sweets. They have food at their house available to cook/heat up for them, or you can pick something up to keep things simple/faster. They use the tv daily, but sometimes forget how to use it, so just get them set up and remind them of the important buttons. The times listed on the dates are not set in stone, just around the time you should plan to go over.
