Helping the Schneiders

Leander, TX

Story

Things have taken a turn for the worst, Jimmy as some of you may know had a toe amputated due to a diabetic ulcer becoming infected. They proceeded to put a wound vac on his wound to help it heal and it is not healing. He has another toe died and many other places on his foot popping up that are dying as well. He is now being set up for a below the knee amputation and will be out of work for who knows how long for healing and being fitted for a prosthetic. On top of that I am going to be having surgery on my shoulder in the next week or so and will not be able to use it. My daughters is not able to work due to having to take care of us and take us to appointments, ect. We are a family of 4 with no income coming in at the moment. Prayer warriors would be greatly appreciated and anything you can donate would help in so many ways. We are trying our best to get by but, are at the point that we are waiting for answers for resources we had applied for but still waiting. We have not received anything physically to help us out with food, gas, or bills in the past few weeks. The process is going to take some time but until then we are trying to make it day by day. Thank you in advance! Jimmy was transferred to PAM Health - Rehabilitation Hospital of Round Rock. His first full day of rehab was today Sept. 28th. At this point we don’t know how long he will be in the facility. He has to heal from amputation and wait for prosthetics to be custom made for him and shoes. That will be another three weeks. We are looking at about 8 weeks before he even gets the custom made prosthetics. He has to learn how to maneuver safely with daily tasks, etc., (with prosthesis) and how to get about safely at home and at work environment before he is able to come home. Occupational therapy and physical therapy. Through out this process he will not be able to work. The only income we have coming in at this point is my monthly disability which isn’t even enough to pay our rent. We have utilities, food and gas and car insurance to pay not to mention daily essentials for us like toiletry items, etc. We are raising our granddaughter after having lost our own daughter 4 yrs ago after her life was taken by a drunk driver. All this came about out of nowhere and we were not prepared for the unforeseeable circumstances that has taken place with our health issues and causing financial hardship on us all and we are overwhelmed. We are a family of four. Jimmy, Crystena (me) Desiree (our daughter) and (our granddaughter) Skylar. We are just trying to figure out the upcoming weeks and months ahead until we can get back on our feet again. We would be so grateful any assistance anybody could offer whether it be donations, gift cards, food or daily essentials. Our daughter had set up a GoFundMe. Link attached to page. Thank and God Bless! If anyone is interested please Like and Share.
