From Luke’s sister Brittney: “It has taken me a long time to be able to put into words what our family is going through with our baby brother, Lucas. For the last 5 months we have been in and out of the Dr’s office searching for answers as to why he was getting so sick so frequently. What we thought was a gallbladder issue has now turned into our worst nightmare. Luke was diagnosed with a brain tumor Sunday, May 30th. On Tuesday, he had surgery to remove it and thankfully they were able to remove the entire tumor. We are still waiting for pathology to come back on it. The preliminary biopsy came back as a medulloblastoma; a cancerous type that is the most common in children. He has been so brave and so strong throughout this whole ordeal. We could not be more proud of him. But we have a long road ahead. Our boy could use all the prayers his little body can get. Also, our mom and his dad Barry, they have been in complete shambles. He has a scan today to determine if it has spread to his spinal cord and a plan for treatment will be made after we know the results. Putting this all into words hurts, it makes it real. So we apologize for taking so long to explain everything to everyone who has been concerned”
