On Sunday night 3/17, Pastor Dave suffered from an unexpected heart attack at his home. He is doing well and is now recovering at home. 🏡 Praise the Lord! 🙌 Since Pastor Dave is on a strict cardiac diet ( no salt/ sugar, … more details below) ❤️‍🩹, it would really bless the Johnston Family if we could come together and bring a healthy home cooked meal for them. 🍲 With most of their immediate family out of the area, and both Pastor Dave and Lynette having health conditions, our Pastor could use our tangible support and fervent prayer now more than ever. They have truly poured out their lives for the body of Christ and now is a great opportunity to serve the Lord and bless our Pastor through this trial. 👀 PLEASE READ 👀 Pastor Dave’s doctors need him on a STRICT diet for his heart’s health.❤️‍🩹 I know unhealthy meals are often quicker and cheaper for us all to contribute, but unfortunately that’s not an option for the Johnston family to eat right now. If you would like to contribute a home cooked meal, please be respectful of his doctor’s orders and make sure the meal you bring is “cardiac diet” approved. ✨What CAN we bring? ✨ Here are some ideas, but not limited to: Low salt/ sugar meat meals (no red meat yet) 🍗 Meals with Beans and legumes 🫘 Whole grains / pasta meals (oats, brown rice, whole wheat pita bread, whole grain pasta)🥙 Meals with veggies (examples: leafy greens, cauliflower, green beans, tomatoes etc🍅 Please no eggplant.) Meals with Low fat dairy (meals with yogurt, cottage cheese, feta cheese) 🐮 Homemade Healthy desserts or snacks (low/no fat, low/no sugar) 🍰 If you’re feeling stuck, google “DASH” diet and you’ll find a lot of great and easy ideas. I’ve also found success with “plant based / all natural” recipes. He CAN have meat but these recipes are a great starting point as they’re natural, healthy but still flavorful and yummy.
