Story
Jess has undergone many tests and monitoring over the past several years for what they believed would only be a mitral valve replacement surgery. With recent pre surgical testing a genetic heart malformation was found; a complex and rare mitral valve disease. She is now to the point where she has to undergo a pretty extensive and rare surgery to fix her mitral valve. She will be having her surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester and will be down there for a few days prior and few days after her surgery. Surgery date is scheduled for Wed. Sept 25th. As you know, Jess is not someone who can sit still or be held up so these next couple of months of recovery are going to be tough for her as she will have strict restrictions. Please help us in making this recovery period easier on Jess and her family. This meal train will make evening meals fast and easy for her family so Jess can focus on rest and recovery. We would like to arrange for at least 4 meals/week for the family, since they are so busy with sports and activities. Please drop meals off at the Hospital imaging department on Wednesdays between noon and 3pm, we will have a Fridge and cooler to keep items fresh. To make alternative drop-off arrangements please call; Deanna Schons (MIL) @ 218-849-2382 [email protected] Drop off instructions: (pull up to the ER entrance at the hospital and call 218-847-0811 or 218-314-7786 to let us know you are here, we will meet you at the door H14 to collect your meal from your car) If cooking a meal is not your thing we will be accepting local eatery gift cards or cash to provide meals for the family as well.
