Shari has had a genetic polycystic kidney disease for years. She knew at some point this would cause her kidney function to decline to the point of needing dialysis or a transplant. She was officially put on the transplant list a little over a month ago, with the hopes of getting a new kidney within five years, or hopefully before she would have to start dialysis. On Tuesday, April 8th, she received a call that they had a match, and if everything worked out, she could be receiving a kidney that Thursday. She got the call Wednesday night to head that way and was in surgery at 7am the next morning! After several days in the hospital, she is finally home and trying to completely heal! Shari is a mom, daughter, sister, friend, coworker, and provider! We have had so many people ask how they can help or what they can do for her, so at Ada Health First, we want to allow you to love our Shari like we do!
