Support for Anne Samson's Recovery from Shoulder Replacement Surgery

Portland, OR

Story

On Friday, September 6th Anne Samson is going to have a reverse shoulder replacement on her left shoulder. Anne lives alone, but she's got lots of friends and family to help out during the long recovery, which will last several months. For the first few weeks, Anne has hired a nurse during the day (9-3) and will be staying with her daughter and son-in-law for two weeks post-surgery, but she could really use your help and support in the weeks after her surgery! The biggest support you can offer is to sign up to stop by her condo and help her change the ice pack on her shoulder, which is something she can't do on her own. She'd also love to have a bit of company during all of this downtime! Please sign up for a visit or two, it really means a lot! Thank you, everyone!

Special Notes

9/12/19: a quick update from Anne: "Yesterday was a banner day: shower, exercises, walk to Starbucks for a dragonfruit drink (I love the color), FaceTime with a friend traveling to Croatia, ride to my place to pick up some frozen entrees I had ordered prior to surgery but only arrived yesterday, more exercises, retire to the chair, but have a great Blue Apron meal with the family before son-in-law leaves for Detroit this morning. The helper, LeAnn, is working out well. While at WFP, I ran into Jan, Ruth, Amy, and Jane. It felt so good to be on my feet and reconnect with their smiling faces!" The best way to help Anne is to stop by and help her change the ice pack on her recovering shoulder. She'd also love a bit of company to keep her spirits up! Anne does not have a great way to store food, so she has requested that you not provide support in the way of meals.
